Luka is going to get coffee, when he hits and kills a dog. Trying to find its owner, he catches the eye of an unknown woman. And suddenly he is remembering his mother, and the looks she gave, and the brother that came before him, who was gone before him, who he should have been. Thrust back into youth and the shadow of an absent sibling, Luka must chart a course through those hours which resonate for years.
